  1. He was about 71-72. He hleft behind 5 married daughters and a wiife. He was a very respected person, retired and spent his time learning, very youthful before his illness, a brain tumor r'”l, and always had a smile. May he be a malitz yosher for all of us and may bis family be comforted….

  2. # 3 he was 70 . #4 no he was not. he is the father in law of the elys on carlton ave south (tiny tikes). he was a yid who was moser nafshi fot torah from when he was a young bochur of 12 from nicaragua. no not a baal teshuva but a child of yidden who ran from the nazis and ended up in central america. learnt in torah vodaas in ny. retired and moved to lkwd before his children lived here. his shver was r’ sklar who moved from chicago to live out his life with r’ aaron ztzl in lkwd. he should be a maylitz yosher for his family, kehilla and klal yisroel

  3. I must add a few observations about the niftar. First of all, he was a model person in so many ways for the frum, yeshivishe baal habayis. Wonderful middos, friendly to everyone, sharp, witty, patient, learned, knowledgeable in many areas. On top of this, he especially sparkled in two ways: 1) he was a morehdige masmid, keeping a number of sedarim from morning ’til night in his retirement like clockwork; 2) he was the all-around Mr. Fix It for Ateres Yeshaya. I don’t mean just minor repairs: he could do carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and he contributed all of these skills and more out of his own time without being asked by anyone. He leaves a beautiful family including numerous sweet grandchildren.

He will be missed in so many ways. To me, especially because he was such a great roll model of a complete, shleimusdige yid. I can only dream of a day when I could retire with his sense of purpose, his personal discipline, his commitent to family and kehilla. May Hashem grant his Almanah, shetichye, and all the family nechama b’soch sha’ar aveilei Tzion V’Yerushalayim.

  4. As a member of Rabbi Cohen’s lunch and learn program, I can attest to the fact that Reb Beer z”l was there every day until he got sick, and it was a pleasure to see him everyday and the way he would say hi to the oilam everyday was something special. And also to see him in the mornings learning with his chavrusoh at Kol Shimshon with such a zest and with such a geshmuk, was trully something to see.

  5. I met R’ Beer only once and that was on the Motozoei Shabbos of the Shabbos he was rushed to the hospital when he was diagnosed and found out the reports were serious

He was sitting in his hospital bed learning gemara.

The reports were extremly serious. yet he was learning.

I was in total awe of this heligha man.

  6. My grandfather, Reb Avraham Beer z”l, was an exceptional person. He gave extra special attention to everyone. He was a bal middos and a tremendous masmid. I personally observed his self discipline in every aspect and how he applied to his learning and middos. We should all learn from him how to act,
