Bais Yaakov of Jackson has won the bid to Purchase the Rosenauer Elementary School for $13,110,000.
The Board of Education last night approved the Resolution for the sale.
Earlier bids were rejected due to falling short of the minimum threshold.
The resolution in part read, “Whereas, the Board previously determined that the parcel of land identified on the Jackson Township tax map as Block 7111, Lot 20 and Block 7111, Lot 34, commonly known as the Rosenauer Elementary School, is no longer needed for school purposes and advertised for bids on the property; and
Whereas, pursuant to the bid advertisement, a second round of bids for the sale of the property were received and opened on December 10, 2024. Two (2) bids were received, the highest of which was in the amount of Thirteen Million, One Hundred and Ten Thousand Dollars (S13,110,000.00); and
Now, therefore, be it resolved, that the Board hereby authorizes the sale of the Rosenauer Property, as defined in the specifications and identified as Block 7111, Lot 20 and Block 7111, Lot 34, to Bais Yaakov of Jackson, as authorized by its President, Aharon Rottenberg, for the amount of $13,110,000.00;
Last year, Jackson approved a campus for Bais Yaakov of Jackson, who intends to build several buildings to accommodate the growing community.
Who’s Bais Yaakov of Jackson?
That is so strange… I thought as per A Rottenberg they already purchased a piece of land for the school a few years ago?
Was that misinformation?
A lot of people sent to the school because of the promise of a brand new building very soon…
Why is tuition going up, if such payouts are possible
Well, guess we had better get ready for some intense “annual dinners” for the foreseeable future…
Dies this mean that property taxes will go down? No more student expenses, no more hyper-inflated maintenance costs and a net gain of 13 million…
Some people are going to be getting a massive building fund bill until their kids are out of school.
first of many schools that will be closing in Jackson
Very sad for those who sent, are sending and hoped to send their children to Jackson schools. I guess Jackson’s loss is another districts gain…for now.
They shouldn’t be opening any new schools in Jackson.
Instead, by keeping all the schools in Lakewood we will bring teachers who live in Jackson to work, pay taxes and do shopping in Lakewood, plus the state will give to the Lakewood school board funds for those children getting carpooled in from Jackson who need to stay in town during lunch break and get their meals here.
yeh, just raise tuitions and buy more real estate, why not,
Welcome Moshe to our beautiful community.
And don’t forget, and make sure not to miss the great convention in Miami in two weeks for the great mesiras nefesh they do besides for the investments in real estate.
For all the negative commentators:
Have any of you stepped foot in the building to see what it is worth? How many classrooms it has? Do any of you know if there are any suitable school buildings for sale for our exploding population? Do any of you know what the cost of building a humble school building is?
Do you know that BYOJ previously bid $9 million but was rejected because the Jackson BOE inflated the price? Do any of you know that another mosad was bidding this time, and BYOJ had to raise their offer to win?
Don’t comment till you know the details. I do.
