A 16-year-old girl from Israel made it to the news this month after her mother rallied to raise money to afford the surgery overseas that doctors promised can save her life. Suri was diagnosed with blood cancer six months ago and the doctors need to operate as soon as possible but her family cannot afford it. Recently Suri’s condition has gotten worse.
The difference between life with treatment and without is massive: If Suri can get treatment, she can live. She could be a happy, healthy young woman. The other side of the coin, however, is dark: Without the medication, she will almost certainly die.
Her family have no options for raising the $250,000 necessary to save Suri’s life. So, they have turned where many others have: crowdfunding. Those who are able to answer the desperate call of this young mother to save her daughter’s life can do so here for a limited time. The family and those closest to them watch the fund’s progress with great apprehension.
