Bais Kaila School Targeted With Graffiti

bais kaila graffitiPHOTO: It seems crime knows no weather or season. A reader sent us photos this morning after he noticed the school and nearby trailers were sprayed by gang related graffiti, including that of the most commonly seen symbols of the 18th Street Gang, as well as the VL (Vatos Locos) group.

However, graffiti issues have for the most part slowed down, partly credited to the Lakewood PBA’s effort in combating the graffiti issue which has plagued the town.

IMG00156-20101215-1143The PBA has performed two such cleanups over the last few months, and say they will continue doing so when needed.

The Bais Kaila girls school is located on Washington Avenue and Spruce Street.

  1. there’s some on the official sign by the entrance. they smashed the glass covering to do it. its been there for ages and there’s some really really obscene words on there!! the girls should NOT be seeing them. i think they tried to paint it over but it rained that day and it all washed away. All the hard work for nothing!!

  2. In response to #6
Lakewood must do everything it can to rid the town of gangs

Every town in NJ has gangs in it..Good luck with that effort though

  3. May I ask if the “gang members” own their home, live with relatives who own the home, or are in rental units? I doubt if they own as they could lose the house in court. If living with relatives I don’t know what to do. If they are renting then stop renting to them. Do a background check on all tenants.

  4. Gang members are for the most part teenagers so stop blaming all the people renting their homes, it can be relatives of the renters but it doesnt matter how much information you would do on your tenants you cant predict which 8-10 yr olds will be the next gang members. ps for your info i dont own any property in lakewood just looking at it from an outside view.

  5. Grafitti on a school building -for students of any age- is especially deplorable as it undermines children’s feelings of safety and security.

  6. I don’t think the cops are gonna paint this time. i know i would’nt paint anything anymore after all of the bad mouthing. the cops go and do good things for the public and then the public has to make accusations against them, threaten them about photos of them not working, complain about salaries and pensions, etc.. think about it if these cops didn’t get all of what they do get would they have the time to do extra stuff for the communities where they work. i recently took a pay cut and i know i don’t even have time to spend with my family because i have to try and work multiple jobs in order to pay my bills, never mind thinking about volunteering for my community.
