UPDATED 12:50 p.m. An Ocean County official tells TLS that accused cop killer Jahmell Crockham will have a bail reduction hearing in Criminal Court today. Crockham, accused of the brutal murder of Lakewood Police Officer Chris Matlosz, as well as the October killing of Justin Williams, is currently being held on a combined $7 Million bail.
The bail reduction hearing was requested by Crockham’s public defender.
It’s unknown at this time what kind of a reduction the defender is seeking, but an official says it’s unlikely for the court to approve the reduction.
A trial date has not yet been set. TLS.

Bail is a right, it’s not normal for bail to be denied despite what you see on TV. The bail went from 5 to 7 million when they charged him with a 2nd murder. Pretty high, and I doubt any bond company in their right mind would put up their money to help this guy go free.

Na,na. If they’d dream of letting him out(although they wouldn’t in a million years) HE’S gonna be needing the bullet proof vest. I wouldn’t worry about the vest though, I think I’d take a few shots at the legs first just to get him screaming a bit. Let him relax for half an hour or so while making sure he doesn’t lose to much blood. We wouldn’t want him dying yet. The rest,I’ll leave to your imagination and creativity. Maybe we can have him brought to the town square and we can all take turns at giving him some of his own medicine.

I just want to know when is LPD going to crack down on these thugs when they are juvinilles and get them when they are doing just petty theft. otherwise they just grow up knowing they can get away with hings and “graduate tot he next level” . First petty theft, then burglaries, then drugs, then murderers.

18- I’m with you. But the problem is that as long as the gangs, thugs etc are thought to only commit crimes against eachother no one cares. As long as people turn a blind eye and don’t want to give the LPD the resources they need to proactively fight crime it won’t happen. When the officer was killed law enforcement from around the state poured in to help- they drove with the LPD, they hunted for this guy. Everyone dropped everything and focused on finding him. That won’t happen every day- and until we are able to give the LPD more training and more manpower there is only so much they can do in a day. They can’t be proactive when they have less than 10 officers patrolling, and they have to run from call to call.

I hope everyone remembers the fact that He murdered a Cop in cold blood for no reason. And now a woman will suffer for the rest of her life b/c her soul mate wanted to make a difference everyday when he went to work.. This piece of trash is worth nothing and there is no excuse for what he did. He made a choice that day to shoot and should now pay the price for that.
