Bachur Assaulted, Robbed, Left With Broken Jaw

LPD small LPDFIRST REPORT: A Bachur walking on Ocean Avenue early this morning was assaulted and robbed, TLS has learned. The Bachur, 20, was walking in the Clover Street area approximately 1:00 a.m. when he was approached by two black males and one black female, according to Lakewood Police Detective Lieutenant William Addison. The Bachur was punched and knocked to the ground by one of the males, while the other male pinned him to the ground and proceeded to rob him, Addison said. The three then fled and left the Bachur lying on the ground, with a broken jaw.

The Bachur then got up and managed to walk over to Police Headquarters where he reported the incident.

Police immediately dispatched K-9 Units to the scene of the attack, where they were able to trace a scent.

After some time, one black male, the one who pinned down the Bachur, exited a home in the area, and was identified by the victim.

He was subsequently arrested and taken into Police custody. Bail was set at $20,000 for the attacker.

The other two have not yet been identified.

  1. i dont know what that guy was thinking, at three in the afternoon i would not walk there, some people dont use common sense…..

  2. C’mon guys;right or no right, you don’t walk in Harlem at 1 AM! In fact these days Harlem may just be safer than Ocean and Clover at 1 AM.
Thank you LPD for the swift response. If they got one, they’ll get the others real soon.

  3. Maybe the bachur doesn’t live in Lakewood and doesn’t know it’s not a safe neighborhood. I’m sure he’ll never make that mistake again!

  4. Oh c’mon, its only unsafe if you think all non-white people are out to get you. I live here and never had a problem, but then again i’m not some xenophobe who’s scared of my own shadow…

  5. Hey guys, stop blaming the victim. It doesn’t matter if he shouldn’t be awake then, he shouldn’t be walking there, etc. He was assaulted. It’s not his fault. End of story.

  6. famous sticker in Hebrew – “Bakvish al Tiheye Tzodek, Heye Chacham” – or the famous poem about Johnny driving along and didnt yield because he was “right”, now he’s dead, as if he was wrong…

  7. #5 – What’s wrong with a bachur learning late?

And all of you afraid of the dark, take a chill. Ocean Avenue is a public road, and there are cars passing all the time, even at 1 in the morning. When I was that age I used to walk home at night on Ridge Avenue, way before the area was developed. Nothing ever happened, in fact, to all you xenophobes, I even used to occasionally exchange friendly remarks with the people if various cultures who lived there. Obviously you need to use common sense. But walking normally on Ocean Avenue is not a breach of common sense, and it’s not like he was walking in a back alley.
