Authorities investigating white powder found in Lakewood resident’s Amazon package [PHOTOS]

Authorities are investigating after white powder was allegedly found inside a Lakewood resident’s Amazon package this evening.

Police have shut down the block as the Berkley Haz-Mat Team investigates the substance.

Lakewood EMS and the Fire Department are on scene as well.

There are no reports of any injuries.

UPDATE: The substance was deemed to be some type of packaging material.

  1. Everything is ok baruch Hashem. Seems like a small Amazon brown envelope outside packaging was torn apart. There were white powdery globs as a protective layer for the inside of the envelope. Hazmat came and tested it and it’s all ok.

  3. Amazon has been using those brown envelopes where the inside disintegrates into that white powdery junk a lot recently. Their packaging in general has gone way down hill.
