Authorities investigating threat against Brick Mayor

Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer announced that the Brick Township Police and the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office

are actively investigating a threat against Brick Township Mayor John Ducey.

The threat was made via the social media platform Twitter on Thursday April 25.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is assisting in the investigation.

Prosecutor Billhimer stated “this is an ongoing investigation.”

This comes just days after the Mayor found himself in a twitter storm in response to his tweet about the park security.

When did the Mayor threaten Jews, what he said was if there is a problem call the Police. This is different than threatening someone. Why do you try to twist what happened and make false statements.

Stop with the fake news. Jews were not threatened in anyway shape or form.

No threats were made - stop it

The Mayor of Brick made no threats. Stop instigating hate. Now the Mayor has a threat because of these comments. There would be no issues if people would not trash the parks and pick up their litter. Look around town and you will see why people are upset. Lakewood is looking like a dump on main roads. Litter everywhere – even in front of all the schools. Cross Street was a beautiful road before all the schools were put up. This is what people are upset about. Trash everywhere. Also when you move into a new neighborhood learn the rules of that town. Don’t assume the rules are same as in Lakewood (which has no rules). Have a wonderful day and be kind. Lets all be respectful to one another and also the environment we live in.

i believe the brick mayor had no ill intentions what so ever in his return tweet
as a matter of fact ive been going to the brick reservoir daily for a number of years and have always felt welcome and it seems others feel the same way as on most days you’ll always find lakewood residents their
as long as you act mentchlich and obey the rules you wont have any issues
of course their are those who are looking for any opportunity to besmirch religious jews but in general as long as the neighboring towns dont feel threatened their town will look like lakewood (and they are right to feel threatened) you wont have any issues

Any chance the threat came from someone trying to stir up more hate? …just asking
