  1. Rav Michel Yehuda Lefkowitz zt”l who was Rav Chaim’s rebbe in mesivta said that whoever says that Rav Chaim was not a baal kishron is being motzei shem ra and he has to ask mechila. Rav Elya Mann in his hesped in Toronto *which was posted on the scoop) said a story of a person whose child got sick after he said this exact statement and after asking mechila the child recovered. Not sure why this scoop would post something right after the petira which is hotzaas shem ra and since its not true it misleads bochurim who get the impression that they can be like Rav Chaim when its not true.

What is true is that he was not a lamdan but he was definitely a bal kishron

      • Chas vsholom. What I meant was that in his youth he wasnt a regular yeshivisher lamdan and thats why he went his own away and focused heavily on yedias kol hatorah. I am explaining where the mistake that people are saying that he was not a baal kishron came from. Kishron has many different facets. Yeshivhisher Lomdus was not his specialty in his youth

        • The fact is you stated on a public platform that “What is true is that he was not a lamdan but he was definitely a bal kishron”. I would suggest that you go to his kever and ask mechila ASAP so that your children stay healthy and nothing should happen to them chas vsholom.

  2. a) Rav Michel Yehuda never said such a thing. b) The Ruv said that this is what R’ Chaim’s classmates said and this is what was confirmed. c) We live in a society that believes such as yourself that not being a Baal Kishron is BAD. You missed the point. Any Baal Kishron understands that the point being made here is that it was R’ Chaim’s Hasmada, Midos and Tfillah which is what made him great. d) Yes, the point is that anyone who tries just as R’ Chaim did, can become the Godol Hador EVEN IF YOU ARE NOT A BAAL KISHRON.

    • That is absolutely what Rav Michel Yehuda said. Search it online and you will hear for yourself. It was at the hesped in Toronto.
What his classmates were saying (if they said it) was that he was not the class lamdan, rather he sat in his corner and learned kol hatorah kulo. (maybe the boys in their small mindedness were not machsihv that mehlaech and they looked down at him).
You are silly to believe that anyone can be Rav Chaim. He was a קדוש מרחם, a huge baal kishron etc. Additionally, many who tried to do what he did snapped as is well known. It is patently false and dangerous to tell this to vulnerable bochurim
