We’ve been inundated with messages from people claiming the letter from Rabbi Forscheimer was forged. For those new to TLS: We don’t publish letters without sources.

Why am I not surprised? For those who are used to other news sites that spout falsehood and are masters at yellow journalism, beware: The Lakewood Scoop doesn’t go for that. They confirm news before they post; not after.
With more reports coming out recently that Hydroxychloriquine is proving effective in treating covid19(although trials are still ongoing), I’m hopeful doctors will be more inclined to prescribe the regimen set forth by Dr Zelenko. Another Dr Stephen Smith has also said he believes it’s a game changer as he has seen positive results with it. It likely needs to be taken at the onset of symptoms to be even more effective. In the meantime people with symptoms should ask their doctor about taking the supplements Quercetin and zinc. Quercetin has been shown to be a zinc ionophore (allows zinc access into the cells to inhibit virus replication) similar to Hydroxychloriquine and is relatively safe to take(although consult your doctor if concerned). It also can potentially prevent viruses from entering the cells in the first place, lowering the ‘viral load’, based on research of Montreal researchers who are done testing on other viruses and are currently doing trials with it for Covid19. Therefore I suggest health workers or anyone with mild symptoms (especially the elderly)to consider taking these two supplements until Hydroxychloriquine (or any other drug) is approved more broadly.

In the Audio-He did not try to argue weather its forged or not rather that they agree that you have to watch yourselves.

This clip doesn’t confirm that he published an issur. Just that “he understands the need not to travel”
There is a big difference between understanding a need and issuing an issur.
I”m not familiar with this situation, but I want to point out that when you want to clarify something to someone that opposes what you said you need to do it with 100% proof otherwise they won’t believe you either way. Close to the truth is not the truth. I would have had a recording from Rabbi Forschheimer himself, it is not too difficult to be reached, and not from a third party. Also the third party has verified that the rabonim understand the importance of staying home but he did not say that Rabbi Forscheimer said he signed the letter. This leaves an opening for the opposition to say 1: this is confirmation from a 3rd party not Rabbi Forscheimer. 2: The 3rd party didn’t say that Rabbi forscheimer signed it. 3: Rabbi Forscheimer may understand the importance but not to the extent of putting out letters. To make everyone happy get a recording of Rabbi Forscheimer himself.
I don’t understand! Why can’t someone ask Rabbi Forscheimer about the letter and record it so we will all no the truth. Why speculate?
