Attention Toms River Residents: Veolia Water to Begin Hydrant Flushing in Toms River Today

Residents may notice temporary water discoloration or reduced pressure

Veolia Water has announced that hydrant flushing operations will begin in neighborhoods across Toms River starting today, August 4, and are expected to continue through approximately August 25, weather permitting.

The flushing work will take place Monday through Friday, with no weekend or holiday operations. Crews will be active between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM.

Hydrant flushing is a vital part of Veolia’s system maintenance program. It helps ensure reliable water service, maintains high water quality, and supports the adequate water flow needed for firefighting.

Residents may notice temporary water discoloration or reduced pressure while the flushing is taking place. If this occurs, running cold water for a few minutes typically clears the issue.
