This project has been going on for over a year and was very poorly planned from day one. The original company that won the bid for the job was completely inept and had to be replaced after a few months of ripping up the roadways and causing huge inconveniences to the local residents. This is all further result of the mindless overdevelopment in this town. Shameful.

Again???!!!

What did they do last summer when the intersection was closed for weeks? How long is this going to last?
If you really believe that it will be completed before July 4 (good weather or not), I have a bridge to sell you…
Residents who are impacted by these closures should get some sort of compensation for their inconvenience. If it would cost the utilities on a daily basis to continue to close roads, I think that they would find a way to get it done more quickly and expediently!

Living on sunset this past year has been nothing short of a nightmare. All in the name of continued overdevelopment. There are noise ordinances in place at night which the township seems to bypass without any regard to local residents. Last winter, they dug up road through the night for a full week. The noise level was insane and it was impossible to sleep. It’s absurd that this is happening again.

This is a prime example of what happens when there is ZERO oversight from the township. They let the Water Company do whatever they want. They let them originally hire the lowest bidder who had no experience with a project like this. After ruining the quality of life for local area residents for months, the water company finally determined that the contractor was completely out of their league and did not know what they were doing. They then started the entire project again. At this point they’ve wrecked the lives of area residents for a year. Nobody believes what they say anymore, they are completely inept. And the township is at fault for allowing the water company free reign over the lives of township citizens. Shameful, just shameful.

Also, everyone should be asking how this could have possibly happened!! This road was closed for weeks on end last summer, creating a traffic nightmare for thousands of people for weeks. Now, that poorly done work needs to redone. Where was the oversight on this?? Who allowed this to happen?

no accountability

all of this in order to allow for the continuing of the overdevelopment in town. NJDEP will not allow for new development unless there is enough safe water/waste infrastructure; so all this mess is to ensure the township/developers won’t get slowed down by the DEP. Enough is enough. Why can’t we have a local government by the people , for the people!!!

thanks to TLS for keeping us updated throughout this never ending drama. If you do a search on TLS for “Sunset Rd” you can scan through this entire saga from day one. So funny/sad how the original post from NJAW claimed that project will take a few months.
