Many readers have recently contacted us asking why they stopped receiving our text alerts.

Recent changes at Twitter no longer support followers via the 40404 system without signing up for an account with them. Once you sign up, you can once again receive alerts via text.

Many were bumped off only recently during the Verizon outage.
