Attention Parents Of Seminary Girls: Bais Yaakov Mezuraz – A New Five Month Intensive Program To Open In Eretz Yisroel

no photo availableThe following is from the new, soon to open “Bais Yaakov Mezuraz” – A New Five Month Intensive Program in Eretz Yisroel, which is set to open before the Summer: Parents of English speaking High School graduates wishing to give their daughters the opportunity to spend their seminary year in Eretz Yisroel are faced with an overwhelming dilemma. True, there is much to gain from the special ruach and intense learning of the seminary experience in Eretz Yisroel. From the intense tefillos in the mekomos hakedoshim and from touring  the Land that we all learnt about in Tanach.  But how many can afford the prohibitive price of a seminary year in Eretz Yisroel? How many parents wonder if it is truly necessary to spend a whole year away? We all know how seminaries grapple with the amount of “down time” given throughout the regular year and the risks involved. But is there an alternative?
With the Brachos and counsel of the Gedolei Hador, Bais Yaakov Mezuraz, a new five month intense seminary program located in Yerushalayim, is set to open its doors before Av.  Led by the well known Mechanech Rabbi Kalman Rosen and mechaneches Mrs. Leah (Assaf) Berlin, Bais Yaakov Mezuraz will allow its talmidos to benefit from intellectually stimulating classes, Hashkafa Shiurim, supervised trips and personal connection with its experienced staff.
The program is designed for the serious academic student interested in learning and growth.  By starting the seminary year right before Av, the talmidos will have the time and tools for proper preparation for the Yamim Noraim and truly enjoy the unique experience of Succos in Yerushalayim.
A few slots are still available for the opening semester. For more information or to schedule an appointment, please call Mrs. S. Serebrowsky at 248-430-4377 (Israeli time)
It is our hope that this new program will enable more families with the possibility to give their daughters the chance to grow, Beezras Hashem, into future Neshei Chayil who will build Batei Neemanim in Klal Yisroel.

  1. Great idea! Wish you much hatzluchah. The expenses for the average frum family are just to high. We have so many important things to spend money on and then comes the huge amounts of money we spend on thing that we do just because everyone does it. So ill stop if you stop:)

  2. This Israel seminary “experience” is not the Torah way at all. None of the Gedolei Torah in America send their daughters to Israel. It’s a big business! It’s also ironic: parents spend $25,000 (the average cost of sending a girl to an Israeli seminay for a year, inclusing air fair ect…) So that their child learns the “Hashkafa” that money isn’t important, and that she should marry a Ben Torah. (My wife and I decided to teach this Hashkafa to our child free of charge!)
P.S. At the Aguda convention this topic will never be spoken about for the simple reason, that the people than can afford $1000 to blow on Thanksgiving weekend, usually have the $25,000 to blow on seminary. So any attempt address this issue would make a lot of “Torah’dike” Bal Habatim uncomfortable. It would diminish the “feel good” sentiment they spent $1000 on!

  3. “None of the Gedolei Torah in America send their daughters to Israel”
Completely untrue – and also completely irrelevant. (Or, you have an entirely different list of “Gedolei Torah in America”)

  4. I do not plan on sending my daughters to seminary… I can’t afford it. But I know of Gedolei Yisroel in america who do send their daughters to Sem.

  5. many people pay reduced tuition to our high schools totalling around 15000 for ALL 4 YEARS of high school and then spend 20000 on ONE YEAR of seminary .

  6. There are plenty of programs and grants that will pay for this year in Eretz yisrael. There are tremendous benefits to soending a year in EY.
