JUST IN: Approximately 5:30 a.m., several Presidential Estates residents called the Police after being wakened by banging on their doors and one resident, by his window screen being knocked out. Police arrived and caught a Hispanic male-evidently drunk-trying to gain entry to a reseident’s front door. “The cops did not want to arrest him because “he didn’t actually commit a crime” and they believed the man thought he lived there”, a resident-nearly a victim-told TLS. However, the residents showed the police the window screen the man busted and told the cops “People don’t usually clime through their home windows”. The man was taken into custody and is being charged with Criminal Mischief.

Actualy if I was drunk at 5 am and thought I was locked out of my house I WOULD try the window…..theives also don’t usualy bang on the door… At least that’s what they teach in ganev school that if you banh you will wake up the people inside…. So as much as we love to bash the p.d. They had a point…but I’m sure I would have been scared and begging them to arrest him to. Just defending the police point of view.

we are not his neighbors and he didnt think it was his house they know the law and will tell the cops that they thought it was his house to avoid any possible arrest

Isn’t there a thing called atempted burglary? If they beleived him then why arrest him? If they didn’t believe him then why not attempted burglary?

He actually was trying to break the glass on the side of the door and was trying to jiggle the door open. Don’t think thats the best way to get into your own house. Next time he comes I will send him your way. (As a side point, he was very far from his own house as this is a development of frum people.)

The reason why LPD didn’t want to prosecute, because he’s illegal and too much of a headache. If it was a legal they would have prosecuted him to the end because the court takes it over and the cop gets the award. Perhaps we should create an award system for prosecuting illegals and it will be more effective then what all the great askanim had tried doing till now. Not to bash askanis, just a helpful hand.

A hispanic? what a surprise !!!!! When will we wake up and see what is happening to our town.?
At 5:15am A hispanic male tried gaining entry into a side door by fooling with the knob & lock and then attempted the basement window by kicking in the screen of the basement window. True he was a bit noisy and woke up my wife who then woke me & called 911. At that point the CRIMINAL made his way to my front door trying to break the glass thats on the side of the door and trying to get the door open. At that point the Police showed up & tried defending the would be robber. At first they were going to let him go, but because there were enough people out causing a ruckus they charged him with “criminal mischeif”, for kicking in the screen window. Wow we feel really safe here.
