Last month, leaders and physicians from Atlantic Health System and CentraState Medical Center held a special forum at The River Terrace to discuss the latest in healthcare services and how CentraState is enhancing its offerings to meet the needs of the observant Jewish community.
Leaders from Bikur Cholim of Lakewood, Hatzolah of Central Jersey, Cedar Health Group, Chabad of Freehold and other community organizations met with Steven Sheris, MD, FACC, FACP, Executive Vice President and Chief Physician Executive of Atlantic Health System, and President of Atlantic Medical Group, Thomas W. Scott, FACHE, FABC, President and CEO CentraState Healthcare System, physicians and clinical leaders representing 14 specialties and three outpatient departments including oncology, cardiology, pediatrics and women’s health services.
Resources at CentraState for Jewish patients and caregivers include rabbinical support, an Orthodox Jewish patient advocate, kosher meals and kosher pantries, Shabbat boxes, a Shabbat elevator and a designated entrance for Shabbat. CentraState also created a new Resource Guide that provides additional information on resources in the community, including nearby access to a local Orthodox Minyan and Shabbat or Yom Tov accommodations.
