Assembly Republicans O’Scanlon, Bucco: New Jersey’s Economy Is Recovering, Growing

Assembly Budget Committee member Anthony M. Bucco, R-Morris and Somerset, issued the following statement on revenue testimony by the Office of Legislative Services and Treasurer Andrew P. Sidamon-Eristoff:

“No matter how you crunch the numbers, the bottom line is the same: New Jersey’s economy is growing and the fiscal discipline Republican leadership brought to New Jersey is beginning to pay off.

“Analysts agree that New Jersey’s progressive income tax structure will mean a greater recovery and we are on firm ground to provide the tax relief that will leave more money in people’s pockets and add more private-sector jobs.

“New Jersey’s Comeback has begun and this budget will keep us on track toward finishing the job.”

Assemblyman Republican Budget Officer Declan O’Scanlon, R-Monmouth, issued the following statement after the testimony:

“As much as the Assembly Democrats are determined to rewrite history and turn the amazing success of this administration’s budgeting and reform into a negative, the testimony by the Treasurer and OLS showed the fallacy of their feeble arguments. The truth is New Jersey’s economy is recovering, we are creating jobs, and we are lowering taxes.”

“The historic reforms we enacted with bipartisan support, most notably pension and health benefits reform, are already delivering relief to municipalities and property taxpayers.”

“Republican leadership has paved the way for New Jersey’s road to recovery and this budget will keep us moving in that direction.” TLS.

  1. Am i just high again or is something wrong here, he said property taxpayers are feeling relief well i’m a property taxpayer and i am not feeling one ounce of relief am i the only one or are there others like me out there. Id like to meet all of you who are feeling this relief, it must be a great feeling

  2. To #2 you are so right. Granted I received a very very small rebate, but it does not compensate for everything else that is sky rocketing out of control. Like our utilites, everytime I turn around there is another made up tax applied and nobody can explain what it is. Yeah so that little rebate does not come close to feeling like we have been compensated. Lets face it living in New Jersey is EXPENSIVE, can’t even move out of this State without paying an EXIT TAX. Are we living in a communist state?
