(PHOTOS) At a pre-Dinner meeting for the Lakewood Cheder last night, honoree R’ Aharon Stefansky, who hosted the event, R’ Itche Rosenbaum, and R’ Mordy Schron surprised the attendees with an unusual announcement. “Any money pledged or raised by the Lakewood Cheder/Bais Faiga parent body from now until the Dinner will be matched, raised or donated, dollar for dollar, by the Vaad Hacheder together with the honorees. The matching offer has a cap of $500,000 and will be in effect until the Dinner.”
“That figure is impressive, and it is also realistically attainable,” says Moshe Dovid Perlstein, one of the campaign coordinators. With a combined parent and grandparent body exceeding 5,000, the number can be well within reach. With the positive energy infused in the current campaign, reaching our goal of $500,000 is a strong likelihood.”
The pledge has to be made before the Dinner.
