  1. Aren’t there 2 new girls schools opening up for next year? Plus the schools that aren’t full yet. There should be enough space for everyone.

  2. Good Advice- There is plenty of room in two schools, one has only one class but has a good few slots and the other has three classes but has plenty of room so dont be stupid and wait till you get into the bottom two schools

  3. I know of some families that only applied to (moderated), and no other school, because t hey figured that they’ll tell the school that they have no choice and take them in, since they didn’t apply to any other school.

Now they are in for a rude awakening. (moderated) doesn’t even have enough room for all siblings, so no one new is getting in this year.

    These families are now stuck.

My advice: Next time, apply to a few schools, not justy one school.

  4. The best thing to do is apply to one school and I’m talking from first hand experience, bc even if that school doesn’t take you the admin of other schools can’t say oh u applied to two other scholls so we wernt your first choice etc. Either u apply to every single one and then admin can’t say well the people that applied right away to our school have kedima or u apply to one and this way no one can play the ” we wernt your first pick “insulted game. Anything in between and your in trouble

  5. many schools have slots, they are just playing hard to get, by only wanting those who don’t want them. i know firsthand of a school that accepted a family that didn’t even apply there! (after telling their applicants they had no more room). let the games begin!!

  6. But, unfortunately, some of the schools abuse them. I personally know of a story last year where a school told the askanim Pesach time that they would take a certain girl, but then in August said “sorry, we don’t have room”. This child did not know where she was going to school until the day before orientation. B”H she is in a GREAT school, but that does not excuse the behavior of the school that lied. And they never even asked the parents (or the child) for mechila…

  7. Schools should at least not give false hope, for example “were waiting for a slot to open up” or even give an interview knowing theres no chance for those ppl i know its hard for the school to say it straight out but in the long run its worse to let ppl on. anyone who is in school at this point should not take it for granted and should thank hashem for it. NO JOKES

  8. Everyone enough of all the horror stories and complaints. Here you have people working tirelessly to help out other people and all you hear is complaints!

  9. I think that the heartache and tears of the parents and innocent children is a big cause of a lot of our suffering
This proplem gets worth every year kilonu cacumim we have to find a solution to stop the heartache and tears enough needless suffering please

  10. Chani,

Funny how you made a silly comment without thinking first.

The SCHOOLS don’t let you in because you have internet.

The ASKONIM, on the other hand, are trying to get you into school, by contacting those who do have internet, through the internet.

Instead of complaining about everything, why don’t you understand that people are trying to help you. These askonim work tirelessly, day and night. I see it first hand, and it is absolutely amazing. Say “Thank you!”

  11. Thank you to the askonim for their tireless work on our behalf.
On a different note. It is a real shame that we as parents have created a system where “I will only go to these schools and NOT to the others” as this just sets up these other schools for failure. All of our wonderful schools in lakewood are all basically teaching the same derech so it boils down to who ends up going there. If we all stopped being so petty and allowed all types of children in all of the schools we would soon see that all of the schools would be on par with each other and they would all have acceptable parent bodies and we would see fewer issues with getting our wonderful children into schools as the available “pot” would grow as the choices grow. This wouldn’t solve the growth issue entirely but it would certainly help.
    Just my two cents.

  12. Some people are so ignorant.
Internet, blue shirts, working, Baal teshuvas, geirim, divorce , no money are NEVER the reason why some don’t get into schools. The schools are just too full. This year even siblings and staff children did not get in. Take bais faiga as an example. There are 11 classes. After siblings there were only40 slots
WHAT DO U WANT FROM THEM. With over 400 spaces.
    Nothing to do with internet

  13. we need a another public and private school! I do not understand how come there is just one sided meaning of “private” schools. The robo signing of these documents are out of control.
