Are You Noticing a Continuous Decline in Verizon Cell Service in Lakewood?

Over the last couple of weeks, TLS has received numerous complaints about the Verizon Cell service in Lakewood.

It’s not the first time we’ve received a batch of complaints with regards to the service, but it appears – based on the number of recent complaints – that its service capabilities are continuously deteriorating in the area – seemingly due to the overwhelmed infrastructure and lack of proper upkeep with the growth.

Are you finding the service deteriorating?

  1. I actually have mint mobile which has merged with T-Mobile. I used to have better coverage and it’s gotten.. much worse over last few months.

  2. Yes, service is terrible. I can’t make calls let alone use any apps. But what do we expect from Verizon? Every time they try to put up a tower the crazies fight them

  3. Yes definitely going down. I’ve been with Verizon for the past 25 years used to be excellent then good now it’s going from bad to worse. You can have a strong signal and your calls still don’t go through and your pages still don’t load it’s crazy

  4. Verizon is trying to put a cell tower in Lakewood. The neighbors are in court trying to overturn the lower courts decision, so don’t blame Verizon.

  5. I don’t believe the writer of the article understands the definition of the word “decline.” The Scoop regularly publishes articles criticizing Verizon’s subpar service. This isn’t a decline; it’s consistently poor.
    Verizon deserves points for consistency.

  6. For all those commenters complaining about those protesting for the cell phone tower, realize that in a regular environment a cell phone tower is not in a residential area. It’s usually placed in a commercial zone with service for miles in the surrounding area.

    • That’s incorrect. You can google “cell phone tower map” and head over to Brooklyn or Manhattan. There is a tower listed on every street corner

  7. I can’t name names but as someone “in the know” there has been a concerted effort behind closed doors by several Big name Rabbanim, Noted Poskim & Influential Askanim to lower the level of service in an attempt to lessen the problems of Lashon Hara, Shmiras Eynayim & Bitul Torah in our Machane.
From these comments it seems to be working quite well.

  8. It has drastically gotten worse in the past few months in downtown & BMG area, Phone calls are very often choppy. Data is very often useless.

Although AT&T (H20 MVNO) has very decent service in this area.

  9. I spoke to Verizon . They know they have a big problem in Lakewood but they can’t get more towers approved. Neighbors keep fighting. Each tower can only process a certain amount of calls at one time. So you can have a hood signal but no calls go through .

  10. For the last few months in multiple areas. Phone calls getting dropped, or going silent for 10-20 seconds where the other person hears you but you don ‘t hear them. Data service not working, especially at night. Really unreliable…

  11. I have Wing phone service that uses Verizon towers. I never had an issue even when everyone was always complaining about Verizon service. But recently,it has gotten really bad.

  12. Terrible is the only word for Verizon service in lakewood. And yes I didn’t know it xan get even worse, as we have seen lately.

  13. It won’t help to complain to TLS. You need to complain to Verizon. I called Verizon and they thanked me for telling them. They have no way of knowing if the customers don’t tell them about it. So don’t rely on the next person to submit your complaint. Please pick up the phone and call them directly. If they receive enough complaints, maybe it will improve.
