  1. No, its NOT harassment. Follow the rules of the road and you won’t have an issue. Drive like you own the road and you’ll pay. Dina d’malchusa!

  2. I wish someone would sponsor a welcome Flash on the outdoor advertisement post every time they come. It will make them feel so stupid

  3. Baruch Hashem!! Wish LPD was as vigilant on a daily basis. And if someone gets a ticket for license plate frame blocking the plate, or such, be grateful they dowgraded it from the speeding or careless driving ticket you could/should have received. BE SAFE AND YIELD THE RIGHT OF WAY WHEN APPLICABLE!!

  4. They sent the nice guys this time. I was pulled over yesterday for failure to signal. When he returned my documents he pointed out to me my registration expired 4/18. I apologized profusely and he did not ticket me for that or tow my car. I did get the other ticket, tho. I tried to get off by saying may neighbor may have delivered his sister but he wasn’t buying.
Thanx LPD & NJSP for keeping us safe and ticketing with heart.

  5. Great!
    Wish they were here 24/7/365.
And when the NJSP pulls you over for a “Minor” Infraction, that’s per their instructions.
Many, many of such stoppages have resulted in the arrests of numerous violent felons.

  6. @Moish24/6. What an idea! Why don’t you handle it yourself? Just walk over to a NJSP trooper and tell him he’s stupid and so is his CO. Don’t forget to post the selfie.

  7. To all those wonderful people commenting how great it is for them to be here, the reason why people are frustrated is because we are not told why they come here so often. We are told that it’s because of a spike in traffic related deaths -not cased by the heimisha drivers, but we feel we’re being targeted for other reasons, like aggressive driving or other bad driving habits. It would be nice if we were told who calls them down here and for what reason, really. Someone’s got to know.

  8. Its statistics. Have you been reading TLS just the last couple of weeks there were fatalities and serious injuries, spinouts and overturns and T-bones. Nothing to do with targeting specific groups, this is by the numbers. BTW, @moish24/6, how’d it work out. לול

  9. another reason the NJSP patrol here….
Our outstanding Lakewood PD is severely undermanned.
Think about it….A city of 110,000 people needs to be covered by a force of appx 350.
Minus sick days, vacations, court appearances, etc and not including Detectives, Supervisors and others, this leave perhaps 90 rank and file officers to cover 25 Sq Miles in 3 EIGHT hour shifts daily.
I lived in the confines of the NYPD’s 61 Precinct until 1993.
They had 300 officers to cover 13 sq. Miles and 10-12,000 people.
And yes, I know NYPD Patrol Cars have Two officers in them.

  10. @ Ron B

J walking should be enforced to tackle the fatalities in this town. And they should be here on Friday nights when many of the fatalities happened last year.

And if there’s a corner that needs a traffic light, then that corner needs a traffic light not NJSP

In PC America they know they can’t say anti Semitism like in the Europe of old, so they blame it on fatalities.

Anti semitism cloaked in the name of safety. Which other town do they visit regularly?

  11. @Fish
    Here are ocean county statistics:
    1. There were 9 fatalities on Rt 70 (this is a state highway where non lakewooders are passing through)
    2. There were 8 fatalities on the garden state (um also a road where more non lakewooders drive than lakewooders)

So the worst accidents in ocean county happened on certain high traffic state roads, so why are they harassing the guy with the covered license plat near yeshiva is the issue

  12. @exbrisker. Excuse me! Law enforcement is a professional organization that is free to patrol according to their operating procedures.

Let’s be honest. The driving habits and pedrstrian street crossing here is out of control, meaning, we are at-risk of safety violations way beyond what is acceptable.

The focal point is not if you have to pay a ticket. it is if you are creating a danger risk by not following motor vehicle and street crossing laws.

I will spare you the stories of reckless driving close-calls I am victm to hour after hour, day in and day out.

Frankly, we should set up refreshment stands for them and thank them with car magnets.

I am not poskining, but I imagine there is a fine line between reckless driving and one being considered a rodeph. DO NOT cross that line, anyone, please.
