With its 36 hour fundraiser underway, Amudim releases What Could WE Have Done, a deeply emotional PSA video tackling the difficult topic of opioid addiction.
While Amudim has never shied away from difficult topics in its ongoing effort to help those in crisis, it pulls no punches in What Could WE Have Done, its hardest hitting video to date. Narrated posthumously by the teenage victim of a fatal drug overdose, it shows a promising young life heading steadily downhill, the many warning signs of an out of control drug habit going unheeded until the unthinkable happens.
With opioid addictions on the rise in the wake of the pandemic, What Could WE Have Done gives viewers a powerful view of what a drug addiction really looks like, as well as its potential to destroy lives. Despite the difficult subject matter, the video’s goal is a positive one, teaching viewers to spot the signs of an addiction in the hopes that similar tragedies can be avoided.
“People need to understand two things,” said Amudim CEO Zvi Gluck. “The first is that opioids are deadly. And the second is that help for an opioid addiction is just a phone call away. No one ever wants to be in the position of looking back after a tragedy and wondering if they could have done more to save a life. We hope that by showing just how terribly things can go wrong, people will reach out for help if they or someone they know is struggling with an opioid addiction before it is too late.”
