Several families from Newtown, CT. who lost loved ones in the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School and members of Sandy Hook Promise will join the NJ Coalition New Jerseyans for Safety from Gun Violence, Assembly Speaker Sheila Y. Oliver and Assembly Majority Leader Lou Greenwald to press for stronger gin laws in New Jersey.
“The New Jersey Assembly passed a 22-bill package of gun violence prevention measures in February, which enjoys the wholehearted support of New Jerseyans for Safety from Gun Violence and the vast majority of residents of the state,” the Assembly Democrats stated in the advisory.
The New Jersey Senate Law & Public Safety Committee meets tomorrow to consider a package of gun violence prevention measures put forward by Senate leadership. Unlike the Assembly-approved package, the Senate package does not yet include a new 10-bullet limitation on the capacity of semiautomatic ammunition magazines.
“The families from Newtown, having recently suffered unimaginable loss and devoting themselves to do what they can to ensure that other families will not suffer similarly, have taken it upon themselves to come to the Garden State to lend their voices in support of the ammunition magazine limit and strengthening our gun laws.”
Hi, Can you do me a favor?
Yeh,sure.
Have a good evening!
We have some of the strongest gun laws in the country as it is, how about getting tougher with the law breakers, yea, right!!
Brought to you by your friendly democrats who want to make this country safer by taking your guns away!
It’s gonna be really fun living in Lakewood when the only people with guns are the CRIMINALS and the POLICE. Better pray when they start shooting in front of your house the police are nearby!
Most people in this state rant about gun laws and don’t have a clue what they are. Let us not forget this would never of happenned if the mother was a responsible gun owner and not allow her mentally troubled offspring access when he should not of had any. Either a gun safe or even cheaper trigger locks and we don’t discuss this. And it didn’t happen in jersey with about the fourth or fifth strictest gun laws in the nation.
