Team Amerigroup was in Lakewood yesterday to meet with therapists.
In a show of interest in engaging with the community, Amerigroup reviewed their program in detail with the therapists and conveyed the details of its utilization
This is especially critical, considering the recent developments in the world of Healthcare here in Lakewood.
They also held follow-up meetings with Hatzolah, LRRC and Bikur Cholim in an effort to develop a deeper understanding of the specific needs of the community. The President of Amerigroup Mr. John Koehn was present at these meetings.
Additionally, Dr. Surowitz Tru, OBGYN, has announced that they have joined the Amerigroup network.
Any confirmations if any OBGYN in Lakewood will be using Amerigroup and what hospitals mothers can use?
My sons therapist stopped taking united two months ago and he’s been going without therapy since, she started accepting Americagroup 2 weeks ago and therapy has resumed I am thankful. Boruch Hashem
Per article Dr Surowitz now accepts them and my understanding most local doctors accept them or will shortly, they’re the only and best game in town. United is history
Does anyone have any info on Aetna?
Also keep in mind that just because you need to switch to Amerigroup for the kids, the adults could still stay on United. Someone told me this and I don’t know if its true. Can anyone in the know clarify? thanks.

Can ppl that already switched out of united tell us which insurance they switched to and if they are happy? Or not? And why?
I need to switch insurance and really clueless as to which one to chose!
Thanx for responding!
I as well switched to Amerigroup and am very satisfied.
As did our family and we are satisfied.
Dr Surowitz takes Ameri group and they r a amazing office
My wife is a therapist and was present. She seemed impressed in their interest and willingness to work together with the Lakewood therapist community.
Dr Shanik’s office told me that it really doesn’t matter to them which of the three available options we switch to. they recommended calling my other healthcare providers (therapists, dentists etc) and ask which network they are part of and switch to that one.
Upon calling NJ Family Care, I was informed that the whole family has to be on the same HMO
Bottom line is that the real need for insurance is for an emergency loiy alainu, and theres no real hospitals in nj like chopp which is tops. anyone know if any of the ins allow chop? i know some are working on it… any news?
United has abandoned Lakewood, and Amerigroup has continuously demonstrated tat they are here to stay and the doctors my family use agree that they are the way to go, I trust them.
