PHOTOS & VIDEO [UPDATED 3:45 PM] The Township this morning held its annual reorganization meeting, where Albert Akerman was sworn in as Mayor for 2013.
Akerman is still in his first term as Committeeman. He is up for re-election this year.
Committeeman Steven Langert was sworn in as the Deputy Mayor.
Committeemen Meir Lichtenstein and Menashe Miller – reelected in November, were also sworn in for a new term.
Also at the meeting, the Mayor appointed the Committeeman to their Liaison positions for the year.
sweet.
Great!!!
First in the agenda: Tent City
2: repave downtown
our town needs more people like you
thanks for your services
hatzlacha rabba aisik!!! we know you’ll do a great job!!!
Best wishes for much hatzlocha to our new Mayor – R’ Isaac!!
steve is an ish emes always lshaim shomayim fortunate r we to have him serve us
First on agenda integrity and honesty. Everything else will follow. Lakewood has never seen such a straightforward and hardworking individual such as our current Mayor. Good luch Isaac, YOU WILL NEED IT!!!!!!!
hatzlacha isaac!
Great choice, I hope they will appoint Meir Lichtenstein next. Both great people.
I hope he is pro police we nned to hire quiet a few.
Congratulations Aizik! Wishing you much hatzlacha!
Tent city, streets paved, pro-police, it is all irrelevant to this position. The lakewood mayor is not an administrator or chief executive. It is ony an honorific position. The whole committee makes policy.
Sooo sad.
Ok let’s get down to work. Mr Ackerman start getting rid of tent city NOW, I don’t care how, but figure it out. You are employed by those who hired you. That’s us. Now get to work.
Why hasn’t Ray Coles been made Mayor?
Lakewood tax payers need to be able to vote for their Mayor instead of a handful of people doing it.
Coles is a Democrat. There is a Republican majority on the Council (3-2). Do the math.
When individuals get promoted,
When positions of doctors are changed
It can be just a title & not much more
Where our respect for them remains unchanged!
Because what’s a job title
When it doesn’t fit the individual?
Not with Mayor Akerman !
Your Lakewood Township promotion,
Only reflects…
Your care and devotion!
From across the ocean
Wishing you continued success
And only good luck-
As you profess!
Because honourable is a job title
When it fits the individual!
Good for you & good for lakewood!
May Hashem grant you the ability to be a true shaliach & make a Kiddush hashem!
Bracha Vihatzlacha bicol massai yadecha!
Is there a list of all of the board & committee appointments?
We have a good team now. Let’s get the job done !
Ztlacha & Bracha
Meir Lichenstein is a true Yid, and helps people out so many people each day, I’m sure that Mayor Akerman will join his team, and add so much transpiroty to Lakewood.
I agree with number 15 lakewood should vote during elections for a new town mayor. Let the public choose and be more happy with the decision.
First and foremost congratulations to our newly appointed mayor of Lakewood Isaac Akerman. I have always supported you as a committee member and I will continue to support you as mayor. Thank you committee members for putting your vote of confidence in Isaac. Congratulations to my long time friend Steven Langert for the landing the position of Deputy Mayor. On a personal note I thank the entire committee for putting your trust in me by extending my appointment on the zoning board of adjustments. I will continue to serve the people of Lakewood to the best of my ability.
Thank you
Joel Schwartz
Shua! You did us proud once again! We miss you! Don’t be a stranger!
first lower our property tax !!!!!
forget about tent city,
this effects us all.
Pave our roads, and we need more garbage cans
Congratulations Mayor Ackerman. Your integrity, fairness, and leadership is needed. Govern well! You have all the qualities of a great mayor.
Good for you! Mayor Akerman, you will do great at your job with Hashem’s help, as you’ve been doing amazing till now. I just hope you don’t get pressure headaches as even I almost did reading all the other comments. If I was asked to sum up all the comments I would write: “Congratulations! Now you’d better make us all happy or else” oy.
Good Luck Mr. Ackerman
