Activists To Rally Tomorrow: “No Excuses. No More Politics. We Need Good Health Care We Can Count On Now”

health-care-reform-in-the-199027s-722130As part of a national day of action for health care reform, hundreds of New Jerseyans are expected to demonstrate Wednesday at hospitals, college campuses, health centers, and social service agencies in an effort to urge Congress to quickly approve health care reform. The demonstrations, organized by New Jersey Citizen Action, are part of a nationwide week-long push calling on Congress act on health care reform. Advocates will be emphasizing what they describe as the need to rein in corporate greed, regulate Wall Street, create more jobs, shore up the economy, address global warming, protect workers’ rights, and achieve quality, affordable health care for all Americans.

“New Jersey residents are joining forces to say they’ve had enough of insurance companies’ denied claims, inflated profits, and soaring premiums,” said Ev Liebman, NJCA director of organizing and advocacy. “They will tell Congress: No excuses. No more politics. We need good health care we can count on now.”

The demonstrations will take place from noon to 1 p.m. at, among other places, Mountainside Hospital in Montclair, on Main Street in Highland Park, Christ Hospital, Jersey City, New Jersey Public Health Institute in Newark, Bayonne Hospital, and Cooper University Hospital in Camden. NJN
