  1. my son had a similar accident when the car had no patience so he went over the yellow line to reach left turning lane hundreds of feet ahead. and impacting my sons suv

in this case the driver that caused the accident was 2nd in line to turn left. he had no patience to wait for the SUV in front of him who had a clear view and was waiting for a safe opportunity to make the left turn.
the 2nd vehicle in the left lane view was blocked and by turning left before the Suv in front of him, caused the vehicle with the right of way to crash

    • while you are correct that it WAS the turning vehicles impatience that caused the crash by not yielding to the suv in front who had a clear view of what was happening.
It is NOT correct that he “caused the vehicle with right of way” to crash. Theres no “right of way” through a red. Period.

  2. I don’t usually comment on who was at fault in an accident, but this really gets under my skin, and I see people do this all the time.

DON’T CUT IN FRONT OF SOMEONE MAKING A LEFT!!!!!!!!!

  3. This has happened to me numerous times – I am waiting to make a left until it is SAFE to do so, the car behind me decides he can make the turn behind me – it’s really unbelievable

To the person that made the left and caused the accident – I hope you are OK – thanks for giving me the opportunity to sit on Cedarbridge this morning for over a half hour and late for work – I love starting my day that way

  4. Lakewood scoop may have to get another section. Lakewood scoop #2
just for the accidents in lakewood…How many do they average a day. I was hit twice..and I was not moving.A red light, and a stop sign….LOL
    no patience in Lakewood……

  5. One assumes an elevated level of risk when he wrongly proceeds through a red light. One assumes an elevated level of risk when one makes a left turn “behind” another vehicle, i.e. from the “on deck position.”

Two drivers made two big mistakes.

  6. They are both at fault, van went through red and car made the left turn from behind the SUV, which didnt go when it turned red beacuse he saw the van barreling towards him.

  7. What is equally apalling besides their negligence is the indifference of everyone continuing to make the turn. Did anyone get out of their car to see if the injured need help? Maybe the car was going to catch on fire? I hope people did stop and go out and help after the video cut but who knows these days…..
Sorry for being so cynical but I saw with my own eyes two babies in diapers and bottles in their hands crossing the street and the cars infront of me just stopped and waited like they were ducks crossing. Being the 3rd or 4th car behind them, I jumped out with my wife and quickly ran to pick up the kids before chas veshalom anything happened. The others continued to just watch…..

  8. I think the roads would be considerably safer to drive on if bad driver’s could be routinely retested for continued fitness to drive.

  9. The satmar rov R yoel says If you want to be protected from ever getting into an accident Just follow the rules of the road don’t do anything stupid or dangerous you have enough time to stop for a red light Then stop! don’t try caching up to a yellow light or cutting around cars Or cutting in front of a tractortrailer and he cannot make a shortstop and a lot of people don’t know this. And then if There is an accident He is in serious trouble.or texting wille driving. And You see it safe drivers never get into accidents.

  10. If you look at the video and know the second person who was turning left, it wasn’t impatience that caused the accident. The first car was about to make the turn and stop short, while in the middle of the intersection, probably because the other car was blowing a red. The second car was forced to stop short when the first driver did, and tried to avoid rear ending the car in front of them. Both cars were clearly in the intersection when the light was red. This means both cars would have to turn. The person who ran the red light is in the wrong 100%
