    • Instead of “hit the guy”, maybe use your brakes for a change. Maybe drive exactly the speed limit and that can help a lot when it comes to avoiding an accident.
I am not referring to this specific driver. Maybe he was exactly on the limit.
I am referring to the above comment.

  1. You should have written that “an accident happened when someone tried making a turn cutting off the person going straight who had the right of way and subsequently hit a fire hydrant. Police are looking for the minivan who took off to arrest him.” It was the minivan’s fault!!!!

  2. These accidents are happening more and more in Lakewood! Yes everybody should abide by the driving rules and the speed limit. But, if you are the one making a turn you need to be extra extra careful there are no other cars coming.
BH everyone involved was safe and wearing their seatbelts. .

  3. @Avraham, The point is once an accident is unavoidable the proper response is not to swerve but to break and hit the guy. The turning guy is clearly at fault, the guy driving straight was right at the intersection when the guy decided to turn, now the guy who hit the fire hydrant has to go through his own insurance as his car is teh only car that hit anything and the minivan gets off scott free because he never touched any other car, and even if they would find teh guy, he wouldn’t be found at fault for teh accident as he never touched the other car, so my advise in such a scenario is dont swerve, instead break and hit the guy and he will be at fault and his insurance will pay for the damage to your car.
