During the previous snow storm, there was a child undergoing treatment who had no appetite. Through the snowy weather, a volunteer traveled an hour away to a hospital in North Jersey and delivered specific foods she would be able to eat.

“Words cannot thank you for all that you continue to do for us. I just want to mention how your transportation coordinator has taken care of us for the past 6 weeks getting us rides to CHOP every day Monday-Friday. Not only that but you have made Pesach at home possible for us this year by helping with the cleaning, waking up at 5:30am to give us rides, and then having a ride available for whenever we were ready to go home. May your organization have continued hatzlacha in all that you do!”

Two big brothers that had been learning in Eretz Yisroel all year both received phone calls from the boys they used to take out asking them if they could meet and catch up. These relationships stand the test of time!

In the span of 24 hours, Chai Lifeline made arrangements for a family who was in crisis just before Pesach. They received a cleaning crew to help them clean their home for Pesach, car cleanings, volunteers in their home throughout the day to help with the kids, supper at home, a ride for the spouse to and from the hospital, in addition to food for the family member who was in the hospital.

“We have been in the hospital all week for our baby’s heart surgery. Our kids were farmed out for a full week when we went to the hospital. When we got home an hour before Shabbos, I had tears in my eyes at the sight of flowers and toys sent to our family by Chai Lifeline. It kept the kids busy over Shabbos so we were able to rest.”

– L. Family

Our respite coordinator sent a volunteer every day leading up to Pesach to help a family whose mother was in the hospital. She went to the house early in the morning to help get the kids out to school each day and was there when they come home from school, greeting them and watching them until their father came home in the evening.

“The children were home all day today – it was wonderful to have a Kosher outlet for them and a sumptuous chametz supper at the end of the day! It motivated them to help during the day!” -Mrs. C thanking us for the SkyZone event.

“We just received the check you sent us for Yom Tov. Not only does it help us financially with all the extra expenses [due to our son’s illness], it helps us emotionally to know we have friends as true as you are that we can count on always. Chag Kasher Vsameach!”

– Mrs. N

“Thank you so much for sending me a girl to take my kids shopping for Pesach clothing. I go in for treatment 4 times a week in New York City and it is exhausting to say the least. I don’t know what I would have done without her, she was so amazing with my kids and got them exactly what I would have picked out for them!”

A text that a case manager received from a mother.

The mother of a large family was scheduled for chemo on Thursday, the day before Pesach. The family’s case manager arranged for a volunteer to take the kids out for a few hours and she also sent over a package of crafts and toys for the kids.

“I just got home from the haircutting event that you had tonight. It took a heavy load off my Pesach preparations knowing that I can just go there and walk out 20 minutes later with 4 fresh haircuts. You really think of every detail to help our family. My wife and I cannot thank you enough.”

-Rabbi T.

When a child was rushed to CHOP on Chol Hamoed with a serious cardiac condition, a case manager travelled to the hospital and spent the entire night with them, helping them navigate the complicated decisions that needed to be made.

When a family received devastating news regarding the passing of a close relative, a member of Project CHAI immediately went to the house to direct the parents on how to approach speaking to their children.

We cannot thank you enough for sending over Batsheva to take our girls out on a Chol Hamoed trip. It would not have happened if not for you because we had to be home with Baruch. Have a wonderful Yom Tov!”

 -Mrs. D

When a woman had a break in treatment, her husband mentioned to their Chai Lifeline case manager that it would be a great opportunity to get away for a few days. The case manager stayed up until 2am arranging tickets and accommodations for them so they could get on a flight the next day.

Motzei Pesach, a Chai Lifeline volunteer brought pies of pizza to families at CHOP.

  1. Just truly amazing
    MI KEAMCHA YISRAEL
THE RIBONO SHEL OILAM SHOULD SEND ALL THOSE WHO NEED REFUAHS AND YESHUAS BEKAROV SO WE WONT NEED chai lifeline

  2. Unfortunately being a Chai Lifelime recipient, there are absolutely no words to describe how amazing they are and think of everything. Happens to be I think I have the most amazing case worker who not only cares but also thinks of every possible way to care for me and the family. With a major upcoming surgery I know that to a big extent I don’t have to worry about certain things because we’ll be so well taken care of.

  3. I remember spending Pesach in chop a few years ago and it made all the difference in our Yom Tov to have Chai Lifeline there with us every step of the way

  4. Being a past recipient myself, I would also add that all this doesn’t adequately say the extent of what they do. They do this work with such empathy and search care and hands on, to help the patients and families going through crisis both physical and emotional. No words will ever say my thank you enough to chai lifeline.
