911 System From Verizon Down

If you have been trying to make an emergency 911 call from your Verizon cell phone and it wasn’t working, that’s because their 911 system is down. A reader notified us that he has contacted Verizon and they are currently working to resolve the issue. There are no reports of this issue with other wireless phone carriers at this time.

was at the scene of an accident and attempted to call 911 many times to no avail
