9 Year Old Speaks Out: “I’m Tired of Getting Pricked By Needles”

[COMMUNICATED] As the lights of Chanukah filled the darkness, and children around Israel were singing songs and enjoying sugary treats, something horrific was happening inside of Shimmy’s body. Suddenly struck by spells of dizziness & intense migraines, what was once a happy 9 year old boy became a sick child trapped in bed.

Two months ago, it became clear to his parents that something was horribly wrong. In the middle of the night, they rushed Shimmy to the emergency room. By morning, he had already had surgery. It was discovered that he has a massive cancerous brain tumor, directly behind his eye.

It has been determined that he absolutely must have surgery to save his life. The surgery is extremely dangerous, due to the location of the tumor.

Shimmy has already grown tired of the hospital, subjected day and night to needles, scalpels, and medical reports. He dreams of being a ‘normal child’ once more.

The family is already poor, and they have a long future of treatments & surgeries ahead of them. They cannot cover their medical expenses, as well as their basic financial needs, without significant charitable donations.

Many children suffering from cancer and their families descend into dangerous levels of poverty, unable to keep up with the astronomical medical expenses and intense emotional traumas. However we at Kupat Ha’Ir are confident that the generosity of the Jewish People can save Shimmy’s life, and save his family from starvation & homelessness.

Please donate generously. Together we can save Shimmy’s life.

Donations can also be made to Kupat Ha’Ir Foundation # 7009
