In an effort to keep their response time at year-round standards, Lakewood Hatzolah has added six EMTs to their volunteer organization, sources told TLS.
The new BLS (Basic Life Support) members, situated in different areas around Lakewood, will serve as temporary replacement for the full-time members who have left for the Summer.
The organization currently has 66 members. Forty eight BLS members, 16 ALS (Advanced Life Support – or Paramedics) and 2 doctors. [TLS]
Dont forget about the service units!
Why are they so difficult when it comes to adding new members? Make these permanent… they should be growing just as fast as the town grows… not “fill in” places.
Names please?
who are the new members??
One of the Mofsim of our era, people are eager, desperate, even, to join an organization where u r routinely woken up during sleep, disturbed during family time or business time, are on call 24/7/365/120 – for no pay, near-zero recognition & a little camaraderie. Amazing. Keep it up guys, we LOVE you !!
What’s 120 I doubt people are still on hatsalah at 90+ years of age and they don’t start at infant just nit picking
to Mayo: You certainly are nitpicking. Jog a Thon just meant to say the Hatzolah members give their whole life to this holy work. Also, altz “koishi Hashibud” he’s right, anyway.
Why are the new members needed. I thought that since everyone cut their long shaitels there were no more Hatzolah calls.
Yup: Good point 🙂 I guess hatzalah stopped updating that lady….
Hatzolah should add many new permanant members. They must grow with the town. A new board should be put in place to oversee the finances as well as making sure there are adequit members serving the community.
