4th & 5th Graders Can Win Lunch, Tour Of State House In Essay Contest Sponsored By Assemblyman Rible

Assembly Republican Conference Leader David Rible wants to know what local students think makes our state great and what they would do to make it better. The Monmouth County Assemblyman is again sponsoring his annual essay contest in which he asks 4th and 5th graders to answer one of the following questions in 300 words or less: “If you were Governor, how would you improve New Jersey ?” or “Why is New Jersey the greatest of all the United States?”

“As our future leaders it is important that young people learn about the issues facing our state and communities,” said Rible. “I am hopeful this essay contest will inspire students to take an interest in their government and offer their own insights on our state.”

Rible personally selects the 5 winners of the contest who receive a personal tour of the State House and lunch with the Assemblyman as well as the opportunity to meet prominent elected officials. Previous contest winners have met Governor Chris Christie and Lieutenant Governor Kim Guadagno.

“I am always impressed by the well-reasoned and innovative ideas that the students explain in their essays,” said Rible. “I look forward to reading this year’s essays and learning more about the fascinating views of our young people.”

Entries will be evaluated for creativity, content and style. They should be submitted by April 25th to Rible’s legislative office at 1955 Route 34, Building 2A, Wall , NJ 07719 . Those seeking more information should call (732) 974-0400 or e-mail [email protected]. TLS-Submitted.
