4 Bachurim Hospitalized After Vehicle Overturns on South Lake Drive

PHOTO: Four Bachurim (teens) are lucky to be alive today after the minivan they were drivingĀ in late last night spun out of control and overturned.

Officials tell TLS the boys were traveling on South Lake Drive just before midnight when the driver lost control and the vehicle overturned. The van then reportedly struck either a tree or a rock causing it to flip back over on its wheels. No other vehicles were involved.

Multiple Hatzolah BLS and ALS units responded to the scene and found the Bachurim bruised and scraped and covered in dirt, but miraculously not severely injured.

They were trasnported by Hatzolah to KMC. (TLS-46/TLS-CCP/TLS-HTH).

  1. of course you lose control on south lake drive. the curves very clearly tell you to go 15-20, but these reckless teens like to live on the wild side and go 40

  2. #1 the bumper sticker should read “pray for me i drive in lakewood with poeple how have bumper stickers that say PRAY FOR ME, I DRIVE IN LAKEWOOD”

#2 where do you get the hate to say they were going 40 its called an accident not a on purpose.

  3. South Lake drive at night with the new obstcale course created by trees and Leaves from sandy is a nightmare. I was terrifed driving last MS 10 miles below the speed limit

  4. Don’t worry. The township has let people know that the leaves and fallen trees will definitely be taken care of before July 4. Have u realized that even the regular leaves pick up did not happen this year? It is extremely dangerous to drive or park. It’s unbelievable. Just hire outside contractors and get rid of everything once and for all. Enough of this incompetence already. It’s dangerous!

  5. again, if you weren’t there, you don’t know how fast they were going, or what happened . . .I agree that the driving around Lakewood is a chilul Hashem of the highest nature, but you don’t know the specifics here, so shut it

  6. It’s not called an accident anymore, the state now sees them as crashes because someone did something to cause it too happen. Same thing here the driver of this vehicle did something to cause this vehicle to CRASH!!!!

  7. Teens driving at midnight without an adult!? Good signal to revoke their driving permits. A minivan can’t overturn at the speed limit on south lake drive, he was speeding for sure!

  8. Many drivers of all persuasions consistently exceed the speed limit on South Lake Drive making it a dangerous thorofare every day and night of the week. As a resident of the area, I’m especially careful when crossing to the lake side and take special care not to walk too close to the road on the exercize trail.

  9. Actually the roads were very slippery last night. My car spun out as I turning into a parking lot, and I was going very slow.

We can judge these kids favorable too. It’s a mitzvah after all.

  10. Why weren’t they obeying the law? It clearly states that any person under the age of 21 is NOT allowed to have more than one (1) NON-family member in the vehicle with them with the graduated drivers license. And if the teen only had his permit than he shouldn’t have had ANYONE in the car with him but an ADULT with a LICENSE.!!!

  11. The law- I see u don’t know the law bec ur allowed to drive with more than one passenger once u have a regular license which u get after the first year of driving nothing to do with being 21

  12. “Wake up Lakewood ” ! Listen to your messages . #’s 5, 6, 7 If you don’t live in the neighborhood please don’t make comments about what you can’t possibly have any idea about. Blaming the Township or outside factors is probably the mentality that gives people the right to think that they are ” above the Law “. The speed signs are posted clearly and most people ignore them. I pray that these guys are alright .

  13. Seems like everybody likes to play detective & ask the most mundane questions. It’s nobody’s business. Why not ask what these young men ate for dinner while you are at it?
