This story is real and very painful.

Alta was born to the Fixsler’s almost 2.5 years ago in Manchester, UK.

Alta lacked vital oxygen at birth and despite doctors declaring she wouldn’t survive more than several hours, she miraculously did.

Alta’s parents spent day and night at Alta’s bedside, and According to the doctors, as a direct result of this love and care, Alta began gaining strength and growing into a beautiful little girl.

Not too long ago, the hospital was ready to send Alta home – of course, this is where every child belongs! The hospital trained Alta’s parents to look after her independently.

Unfortunately, due to a few complications, the move home was delayed.

Recently, the hospital has changed its approach; instead of looking to improve Alta’s condition and send her home with the right support, they now want to remove all forms of support. This move would Chas V’shalom end Alta’s life.

Naturally, Alta’s dedicated parents have pleaded and demanded that their child be allowed a chance at life. They have even insisted that they would seek private support for Alta and bring her elsewhere – with medical support at home or abroad both viable options. However, the hospital is of the belief that they are in charge of this child and to that end, have summoned Alta’s parents to court.

As this is a matter of life and death for their precious child, with guidance from Rabbonim, Alta’s parents have retained the best lawyers available in order to stop the hospital from ending Alta’s life. With Hashem’s help, they will succeed! The legal fees will be costly, but there is now hope for a positive outcome. We hope that Alta will soon be able to come home with the right care, equipment and support.
