2 Juveniles Arrested At School For Drug Possession – BOE Unaware Of Incident

lakewood high schoolTwo juveniles were arrested at the Lakewood High School yesterday for drug possession, sources say. The two teens, a male and female, were taken into custody after being caught with Marijuana on school grounds sources say. When we contacted a BOE member regarding the arrests, he says he was not told about it.

“They are supposed to inform us of these incidents”, a board member tells TLS, “however, there seems to be a breakdown in communication”.

“We do take these incidents very seriously”, he added.

There has been numerous arrests at the high school in the last few months, some for large brawls, as earlier reported.

The board member says the school does provide counseling for students. TLS.

  1. To Taxes:
So glad you began the thread on a positive note. Now you’ll get everyone all riled up. Not me you won’t, I won’t respond to an idiot like you. You know how stupid your comment is,right??

  2. You are not the only people in this town that pay taxes. Not to mention a lot of the money that comes into our school is State and Federal $$.

If this BOE would do what they are supposed to do by law, which is provide the services for the PUBLIC school kids. These things wouldn’t be out of control. The parents have been asking for more security for the past year.
    Many, many, many violations!

To late neighbor, you already responded, to #1.

You’re right though- what a post by ‘taxes’.

Drugs in a school zone could be a big crime and sentence depending on the facts/circumstances.

Some students need all the help they can get but ‘pot’ won’t raise their intelligence at all.

    With ‘dope’ there’s no hope.

  4. The Lakewood Scoop is very quick to report the bad things that occur in the High School and very slow or non existent when is time to report the good things that happen, could there be an agenda?

  5. Tell the Boe to stop wasting time harassing a bus company and making new ways to complain tothem and spend more time communicating with the schools about very serios issues right under their noses .

  6. to # 7, you hit the nail on the head. Lets see how the BOE reacts to this? Maybe they are to busy setting up the new “complaining hotline ” for the buses. It sounds like they are actually begging to get complaints. Whose idea was this?

  7. Even if you take out the bussing from the budget it still comes out to $18-$20K per public school student. That’s more money than what goes to many many many better school districts.

It’s NOT a money issue, stop complaining about the funding. They get plenty of funding.
