PHOTOS: Two drivers were extricated from their vehicles following a serious accident on Squankum Road this morning.

The crash occurred just North or Lanes Pond Road, at the entrance to Howell.

Multiple emergency personnel – including Hatzolah, Howell First Aid, MONOC and Ramtown Fire Department – responded to the scene.

The drivers of both vehicles involved were extricated from their vehicles.

One of the patients was transported to Centrastate Hospital and the other to Jersey Shore Medical Center. Both drivers suffered extensive injuries, an official on scene says.

Part of Squankum Road is closed for the investigation.

UPDATE: Sgt. Joseph B. Markulic of Howell Police Department tells TLS, the patients, ages 20 and 48, were listed in stable condition Thursday afternoon.
