12-foot, 1,000 pound Great White Shark Spotted off the Jersey Shore

A Great White Shark weighing about 998 pounds with a length of about 12 feet 4 inches, was spotted swimming off the Jersey Shore.

Ironbound was first spotted around Nova Scotia, according to Ocearch, an organization which tracks sharks.

The organization places trackers on the sharks so it can track them, and the latest ping off the Jersey Shore was April 28, at around 10:28 PM.

According to the organization, the sharks will spend most of the winter months in the Florida area, and travel north for the warmer months.
