PHOTOS & VIDEO: Hundreds cheered as Shmuel Charloff approached the finish line of the special 5 kilometer run this afternoon. Shmuel took first place, completing the run in 19 minutes and 51 seconds.
“It was good”, Shmuel said following the race. “Exhausting”, says Shmuel, and gave a thumbs-up.
About 100 runners followed Shmuel in the race, which raised $104,000 – nearly doubling the amount raised in last year’s inaugural event – for the Special Children’s Center of Lakewood.
The event featured rides, cotton candy, an Uncle Moishy show and a barbecue.

Did the LPD and crossing guards get paid for their services? If they did by whom were they paid?
The LPD was paid by The Center for the great job they did in escorting the runners and directing traffic. How do I know this you might ask? Because I saw a copy of the check that was made out to the township.
I do appreciate your obvious concern, in making sure that all our tax dollars get spent wisely.
I gotta give a shout out to my friend APPLE for a gr8 race!!!
