PHOTOS: 10 Police Officers Promoted to Sergeant, Liutenant; New Officers Sworn In

PHOTOS: Ten police officers this evening took a leap in their career by being promoted to their next level of command.

After an introductory speech from Police Liaison Meir Lichtenstien, Police Chief Rob Lawson handed new badges to ten officers, while family and friends of those promoted looked on. Five officer were promoted to Sergeant, while five Sergeants were promoted to Lieutenant.

Promoted to Sergeant were: Kevin Doyle, Kenneth Work, Thomas D’Elia, Erik Miick and Summer Cunliffe.

Promoted to Lieutenant were: Joseph Goertz, Rob Smith, Glen Clayton, Reginald Dalton and Steve Allaire.

Lieutenant Tom Langenberger was also sworn is as acting Captain of Patrol.

The new position doesn’t just mean a higher pay, but also means a lot more responsibilities in the paramilitary style command force, by becoming a commander to the officers lower in the chain.

Also at the meeting, the new Special and Full-Time Police Officers were sworn in by the Chief.

In the coming months, the Chief also plans to hire several more officers to replace the retired officers.
