This Saturday marks one year since the murder of Police Officer Chris Matlosz. In honor of the anniversary, a ‘Night of Remembrance’ will be held Downtown.
The event will begin with a candlelight vigil at Red Square, followed by a short ceremony in the Municipal Auditorium.
The January 14 event will begin at 7:00 PM, and conclude at 10:00 PM.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A great & friendly police officer as all of them here in Lakewood are. May he Rest In Peace.
Rip!
On that note, why doesn’t the township explore layoffs of police officers. Real smart Lakewood
<3
TO #3, lakewood has already hired a few layed off police officers, some from trenton.
Please don’t exploit the death of a fallen officer for outside purposes. I think it is disrespectful to him and his family.
Officer Chris Matlosz, i didnt get a chance to really get to know you. The 1 thing i really miss, is walking to shoprite and not seeing you there with your smile. RIP, your real friends miss you more than everything, and the ones that didnt get that chance to become friends with you, well sir, we missed out. keep looking down and keep us safe.
Rip ! How’s his fiancee doing? Our thought and prayers are with you
RIP chris!!!
#2…….he was in fact a great and friendly officer, and thats just an under statement, however i dont think all the officers in town are exactly friendly or great, many of them can learn from a guy like chris.
My comment was sarcastic, it is more disrespectful to forget what he sacrificed for the sake of saving a few dollars on taxes
RIP <3 Always in our hearts & prayers
