PHOTO: At about 9:46 am this morning, Jackson Police Officers and emergency personnel responded to the intersection of South Hope Chapel Road and Whitesville Road on the report of a motor vehicle crash.
It was reported that three vehicles were involved in the crash and that one of them was overturned with an occupant who was entrapped and required extrication.
Vehicle #1 was identified as a 2000 Jeep Cherokee, operated by a 53 year old male Toms River resident.
Vehicle #2 was identified as a 1997 Chevy Cavalier, operated by a 17 year old female resident of Hamilton. There were two additional passengers in the vehicle at the time, an 18 and a 15 year old female.
Vehicle #3 was identified as a 2003 Saturn Vue, operated by a 56 year old female resident of Bayville.
The initial investigation revealed that vehicle #1 (Jeep) was traveling west on Whitesville Road, vehicle #2 (Chevy) was traveling east on Whitesville Road and vehicle #3 (Saturn) was traveling south on South Hope Chapel Road. Vehicle #3 failed to stop at the red traffic signal and entered the intersection, striking vehicle #1 which then rolled and struck vehicle #2.
The operator of vehicle #1 was unrestrained at the time of the crash and was partially ejected and entrapped by the vehicle rolling over. The Whitesville and Jackson fire companies responded to extricate the driver who was treated by Quality First Aid and MONOC paramedics. He was then flown to Jersey Shore Medical Center by MONOC helicopter. The driver of vehicle #3 was transported by Quality to KMC for treatment of minor injuries. The driver and occupants of vehicle #2 were not injured.
The identification of the drivers is pending notification of family members.
The crash remains under investigation by Police Officers Brad Reider, Trevor Crowley and Sgt. Brian Geoghegan of the Jackson Police Department’s Traffic Safety Bureau. They were assisted by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department Criminalistics Investigation Unit.
Anyone who may have witnessed this crash is asked to contact Officers Reider or Crowley at 732-928-1111. [TLS. Photo courtesy Ocean County Police Blotter/FB]
Here we go again.
Another serious accident that happened on……. Shabbos. Like last week and the week before and the week before….. I wish all those that were injured a full and speedy recovery.
Wow! Another weekend accident! Hope all recover and may God stop all accidents ever in our wonderful town!
Cool masmid just took the words out of my mouth. Another serious accident on shabbos. Interesting.
#4 – its no accident (no pun intended) that we both had the same point to make. What occurred today is just another reminder of the facts and that its not what a lot of people will have us believe about this magnificent town of ours.
What were all the fire trucks right when shabbos was ending?
Maybe we should issue a new bumper sticker. Pray for me – I drive on the Sabbath !! Unreal, every shabbos a fatal accident.
First of all this incident occurred in Jackson so shabbos is Sunday and
Emergency response comes regardless. No Lakewood companies are involved.
Second the article does not mention any fatality so why are you all taking that topic to this incident. Does the article need to be updated to include a fatality? This is an accident wear it sounds like some one was distracted and blew the light. Nothing more.
Accidents happen regardless of Shabbos. It’s just not going to involve frum people. This accident happened in Jackson, so I’m not really sure what the point of the above comments is. The “Pray for me…” Bumper sticker may strike a nerve with some, or it may not, but at the end of the day who really cares what silly mantra someone puts on their car.
I guess there are only accidents on shabbos! How ignorant to relate a car accident happening to a day of the week. Poor driving skills and lack of respect for others in the way people drive are really the culprits. Look at yourselves in your own rear view mirrors and think about it. Good shabbos to all!!!
To #1 Wake up accidents happen everyday around the world. And this accident happened in Jackson. So it has nothing to do with Lakewood.Stop instigating. Its you who makes problems for the rest of us when you try to prove a point that you had no buisness commenting on in the first place. This was about a serious accident which you should be concerned for the well being of the poor lives affected. Instead you chose to travel the lower road. In my opinion your not cool at all.
