VIDEO: Dagim Fish, owned by the Stefansky family, donated yesterday thousands of pounds of fish to Masbia a non-profit New York-based Soup Kitchen that provides hot and nutritious meals for hundreds of New Yorkers in desperate need of food.
The large donation of seafood, accepted by the Soup Kitchen Network chef Ruben Diaz, coincides with the Jewish mourning observance of The Nine Days from sundown on Sunday, July 27, through sundown on Tuesday, August 5 a period of time when meat is generally not consumed by Jews.
“It has been our honor for the last 6-7 years to donate this to Masbia, we admire your great work of feeding the needy, and may you have continued success,” a Dagim representative said.
Alongside their hot-meal program, Masbia each week also distributes bags of much-needed groceries to those in need. Masbia works to not only feed the hungry, but to provide free, wholesome, and delicious meals for people in a restaurant-style environment, with volunteer waiters serving each person with respect and dignity.
