A Lakewood couple has Ocean Townsip Police Officer to thank for their help in delivering their healthy child. At approximately 5:49 PM yesterday, Officers Raheem Carter and Kyle Kane (pictured) were dispatched to the parking lot of the 7 Eleven convenience store located at 807 Deal Road in reference to a woman in a vehicle who was in labor.
Upon arrival, officers locatedĀ theĀ 28 year old Lakewood woman in the back seat of a taxi cab.
As officers were awaiting the arrival of EMS personnel the mother began giving birth.

Apparently 7-11 now offers free delivery.
We love stories like this – I am glad everything worked out for everyone!!
I’m not sure why they needed medics as childbirth is usually a BLS emergency.
Glad everything worked out well and mom and baby are okay. Kudos to the officers for a job well done. Congratulations and best wishes to all.
Baby weighed 7’11”
