R’ Kalmen was a true ovaid HaShem. He personified Chazal’s dictum; Eizehu ashir, hasameach bichelko. R’ Kalmen was ALWAYS happy. And his happiness was contagious. I will sorely miss him; as will everyone else who knew him.

  4. Remember R’ Kalman from the condos.
What a love for a shtickel Torah. His singing by Shalosh Sudos and his Tkias Shofer. His dancing on Simchas Torah. Wow. Talking about his Sedorim on Pesach.
Who can forget R Eller and R Aron Chase from the condos. They mutually loved and respected R Kalmon.
R Kalmon had such a love for all with his smile & zest for life.

  5. What a tzaddik. He used to sit in the Oitzer in BMG till 4:00 am, every night. He know gematas all oer shas, cold. He was so proud of his family & his Pesach sedarim. He used to tell me over a shtickel torah from his kids all the time. And he used to tell me how his Pesach seder finished by Neitz. What a man.

  9. Rav Kalman, zt”l, would always have a chidush on his mind from the Torah he amassed, a smile from his simchas HaTorah which he could not repress and a heart full of chesed which yearned to share his beautiful Torah with anyone, young and old, explaining and repeating it over and over again for as long as one would want to understand it more clearly. I can picture him now and will remember him and what he proudly stood for. Kavod haTorah, middos and simchas hachaim. Thank you Rav Kalman for all of the Torah you imparted to all of us, the example you set for all who knew of you and the exceptional warmth and kedushah you emanated to all who were zocheh to come in contact with you. May you continue to go m’chayil l’chayil and be a malitz yosher to your family and the generation at large. Tzatzachem b’shalom. Avraham Yehoshua Katz

  10. Although a distant cousin, Kalman always jumped at the opportunity to invite me and my family into his home and to all simchas. He truly loved Hashems Torah and instilled that llove in his children and everyone he met. He will be missed by many.

  11. Reb Kalman was an Ahava Rabbah. Ahavas HaShem, Ahavas HaTorah, Ahavas HaBrios, and everyone felt the same way about him. He was such a tayara neshomoh. Miyuchod b’doro. What a loss!
