  1. i dont think it is right to ask such questions about a passed, loved one.

as per report, we learned that he was suffering financially, and may have not been able to pay insurance.
also he was young and prob didnt think of ‘life insurance’

3rdly it is not like he was sick or something…it was just suddenly..his time…..apprently he completed his mission in this world and is now in the bigger and better world.

  2. Once again i am shocked to the core as pain races through my spine.
I would like to say, I met R’ Babrovsky Z”L one Pesach and what an inspiration he was. Although I had never met him before, he invited me into his shul on the corner of east 7th and Ave S.
There must have been 30 young russian boys there and they were eating the seudah together. His wife ( may she be comforted ) is a wonderful lady who did all the cooking and took care of all of the boys as though they were hers.
For all those that did not know him I am hear to say Reb Pinchas was a tzaddik.

    Sincerely, An inspired Syrian.

  3. FYI Karen, not everyone can afford life insurance, (some can’t afford rent, food, clothing and other things as well) Money is not an infinite thing and people have to choose,

Donate or don’t donate but don’t act as the judge because you can’t or don’t want to give.

  4. Karen bird ,
If even one person doesn’t donate money because of your comment I wish you the best of luck in the world to come. G-d who looks after widows and yisomim doesn’t only help the ones who had life insurance.

  5. To number 4: let’s get something straight a person needs life insurance when he is young cuz c”v if something were to happen his family will have money to pay bills. Once someone hits 50’s 60’s and kids are married off it’s not as imp. It should be purchased as soon as their first child is born. Of course if someone can’t afford it then they don’t have a choice but it definitely comes before Florida, 2nd car etc.

  6. Karen Boy, you are 100% correct in asking that question. L’maaseh, whatever he had, it wasn’t enough. Everyone else out there, GET LIFE INSURANCE!!!!!!!! IT MATTERS NOT WHETHER YOU ARE YOUNG OR HEALTHY OR DON’T EXPECT TO DIE (SOON). YOU BUY INSURANCE FOR THE WORST CASE SCENARIO.

  7. Life insurance is extremely affordable. A healthy male can get 1 million dollars coverage for less than 20 dollars a month. Do it for your children. Its worth the peace of mind.

  8. An askan once said to me ….at a life insurance meeting at our company – if you can afford life insurance you should get it and if you cant afford it, you should for sure get it….

  9. It sounds like this world could use more people like this fine man! If only we all did just a little bit to help someone else especially in times of need! Giving comfort to his family and helping them financially is the least we could do!

  10. What a shocking loss! I listened to his drashos many shabosim when I was in Flatbush. A big talmid chochom who was able to relate to the russian youth. He was always happy and full of life. Helping others was his goal in life. Now it’s time to help in return.

  11. To all the brilliant people on here who needed an excuse not to donate.

Life insurance is NOT always under $20. I for one pay $63, plus for my wife…. And I have shopped it out several times.

Besides, who are you to judge? Just don’t donate and SHUT YOUR MOUTH(or better, your keyboard)! Can you answer for every expenditure of yours? Is everything you do the most responsible thing? Do you text while driving? If yes, you are risking your family’s lives/finances more than by not having insurance.

  12. TO NUMBER 12
I DONT THINK YOU CAN GET A $1,000,000 FOR LESS THEN $20.00 A MONTH. THAT’S WAS A LITTLE GUZMA. HOWEVER YOU CAN CALL SOME LOCAL BROKERS FOR A PRICE. I SUGGEST YOU GET A 20 YEAR TERM OR PREFERABLY A 30 YR TERM. LOCK IN THE RATES. IT PROTECTS YOUR INSURABILITY. FOR A YUNGERMAN IT IS REALLY CHEAP.
AND BY THE WAY…ALL YOU GUYS WHO BOUGHT RECENTLY AN EXPENSISE WHOLE LIFE POLICY OR A UNIVERSAL POLICY, MY ADVICE TO YOU IS..CASH THOSE POLICIES OUT AND BUY TERM INS. BUY A BIGGER DEATH BENEFIT FOR LESS THEN HALF THE COST OF THOSE EXPENSIVE POLICIES. DON’T SAVE YOUR MONEY WITH AN INS CO. THOSE SAVINGS ARE LOUSY. IT’S AN EXPENSIVE SAVINGS ACCOUNT THAT LOCKS YOUR MONEY INTO THE CONTRACT. WHEN YOU TAKE IT OUT IT WILL AFFECT YOUR DEATH BENEFIT, AS IT WILL BE REDUCED. IF YOU LEAVE YOUR MONEY THERE, THE INS CO. WILL KEEP IT. SO SAVE YOURSELF SOME AGGREVATION. JUST BY TERM INS. BUY FROM A BROKER THAT ADVOCATES TERM. THEY ARE HONEST BROKERS. THOSE THAT SELL WHOLE LIFE & UNIVERSAL LIFE, PROBABLY ARE ALSO HONEST BROKERS, BUT THEY WERE TRAINED BY THE WRONG PEOPLE UNFORTUANETLY. BE WISE. DO THE RIGHT THING WHILE YOU ARE YOUNG, IT WILL SAVE YOU FROM A COSTLY UNNECESSARY MISTAKS THAT YOU WILL REGRETT WHEN YOU GET OLDER & WISER.. DO YOUR RESEARCH. ASK QUESTIONS. I BELIEVE A POLICY IS A SEGULA FOR ARICHAS YOMIN. A TERM POLICY IS PROBABLY A BIGGER SEGULA, AS IT COSTS YOU LESS MONEY, AND IT ALLOWS YOU TO PAY YOUR OTHER NECESSARY BILLS. BE WELL, FROM A YUNGERMAN WHO UNDERSTANDS FINANCES ( ER FARSHTEIT AMKUS FUN

  13. To jbw. Its a specific policy offered by met life. I have it through my agent. You need to have the top health rating and be under 32 or 33. Rates are raised for higher age and health issues.

  14. I have a 1 million dollar term policy for about 25$ a month. I scheduled it to be due right after my tax refund comes back that way I know every year the first 300$ goes directly to life insurance. It’s more affordable than you think and if you have kids it’s the most important thing you can buy.

  15. all you idiots stop using this for your agenda of buying life insurance don’t use this tragedy for your agenda if you have nothing smart to say then keep your mouth shut

  16. This past Erev Shabbos we suffered a tremendous blow a member of our community a Beloved husband and father of four precious children just 38 Years Old was niftar from a severe heart attack. Reb Pinchos was a very unique individual his smile, his warmth has touched so many. His brilliance has inspired so many people. He gave and didn’t stop giving even when he had nothing, he gave of himself to help bring hundreds closer to Yiddishkeit. As we approach the Yomtov of Chanukah a time of giving a time when children cherish the memories of singing with their father by the warmth of the menorah and receiving chanukah gifts. Reb Pinchos’ family will never again hear his beautiful voice sing the Moas Tzur or feel his warmth and brilliant smile as he lights the menorah. The least that we can do is return to them the Gift of Giving so that the Alamanah can provide calm and stability needed for their lives to go on. AN ALMANAH AND 4 YESOMIM were left peniless with NOONE in the World to turn to, there is absolutely no Mishpacha for them to turn to. YOU can make a difference PLEASE HELP NOW. to donate visit

  18. BD’E this is a terrible tragedy and everyone should help out if they could. regarding insurance right now a healthy male can get 1 million for under $20 a month. if not perfect health it will be a little more. of course a term policy will be the cheapest but those advising against whole life if someone is capable of it has no clue what they are talking about. I have spoken to soo many people who wish they could get insurance but they are not in the greatest health anymore. whole life insures you will always have it when you need it. its not the best way to grow your money but it sure helps for your older years when you wont be eligible. I would be glad to explain it to anyone.
with that said, if someone didn’t have life insurance we have to make sure they are taken care of so please donate
