Assembly Republican Budget Committee member Anthony M. Bucco, R-Morris and Somerset, issued the following statement on the addition of four new Trooper classes in the current and proposed fiscal years, as highlighted in Tuesday’s budget hearing with Attorney General Jeffrey Chiesa:
“Public safety is a critical priority and New Jersey is committed to having a robust State Police to keep us safe.
“By the end of next year, we will have nearly 500 new Troopers patrolling our communities, as well as 250 new vehicles to help them do their jobs more safely and effectively.
“These new Troopers are desperately needed to bolster our ranks and I commend Attorney General Chiesa for enhancing our state’s law enforcement capabilities and doing it in a way that includes the most diverse class or recruits in our state’s history.” [TLS]
Are they planning more ticketing to pay for the new troopers??
Public safety at 120 MPH down the Pkwy. Uh huh.
200 of them are coming to Lakewood
Beware
They need to come to Lakewood and crack down on illegal parking, no use of blinkers (extremely dangerous), not completely entering a turn lane, turning from a non-turn lane, use of cell phones and other violations that aren’t being taken care of by the LCSW.
Some people are never happy no matter what !
well its time for lakewood to hire several cops. the time is now people.
I thought there were being cuts made across the board
who is paying for them ??
