PHOTOS: Relief Resources yesterday evening hosted a conference for Psychiatrists and Psychologists from around the Tri-State area. The event, held in Manhattan, provided a platform to discuss and educate the professionals on topics pertaining to the Frum community, enabling them to acquire the knowledge necessary for them to be most effective in their treatment.
“Unfortunately, there are many people in the Frum community that require quality mental health care, but being that many of these professionals are not religious and not Jewish, it presents an additional challenge”, Relief says. “Doctor’s need to be educated about the lifestyle of a Frum Yid in order for them to administer proper treatment in line with the patient’s cultural background. Relief has filled that void by holding a yearly dinner for many top professionals in the mental health field”, Relief said.
Among the approximately 60 Clinicians in attendance yesterday evening, were Dr. Philip J. Wilner, Vice President and Medical Director of Cornell, and Dr. Glenn Hirsch, Medical Director of NYU Child Study Center.
