This year’s fireworks display in honor of July 4th, will be taking place one day earlier, on July 3rd, TLS has learned. Like in other towns, the fireworks show is moved up a day in order to save money. Doing it off-peak, would save on Police and Public Works overtime as well as on the fireworks, officials say.
Last year, the event was also scheduled to take place on July 3rd, but was postponed due to severe weather conditions.
By pushing it up by one day, to July 3rd, the Township could save approximately $30,000.
See video of last year’s event here.
Who cares when it is, as long as there one. It’s just so nice to see the town come together and enjoy themselves.
has lkwd ever made fireworks the right day?
Dont forget at 630 PM is the 1 mile and 5 mile run for Chris Matlosz around the lake. A great way to show your support and have some fun!
Very excited, and looking forward. Don’t forget to hang the American flag outside your home. (And make sure they’re MADE IN USA.)
G-d bless America!!!!!!!!

Yes years ago the fireworks were always on the 4th of July. It was a really big show. It didn’t matter what day of the week the 4th of July fell, that was the day to show our independance, not to fit someones calender.
look at these amazing fireworks in the sky, with wonder & thank Hashem for creating such an amazing world filled with niflaos haborei.
i think they shoul do it on labor day like last year because its supposed to rain on july 3 !!!!!!!!
To Linsanity: You are a great meteorologist if you can tell this far away that its going to rain on the 3rd of July. I am shore if it does rain they will hold it on another day close to the 3rd also holding the fireworks on the 3rd of July gives people a chance to travel to other locations to see fireworks more then once. I believe July is independence month and I go to as many places I can to see fireworks all month. Like Blue Claws stadium when they have there home games. I love to go there just to see the fire works. They let you in the stadium just before the end of the game for free just to see the fireworks, or if its not too crowded the Dr office across the street is a great place to park to watch.
Have a Happy July every one.
