Chris Matlosz Playground Constructed At John Patrick Sports Complex

PHOTOS & VIDEO: Township officials and Local PBA members will take part in a dedication ceremony for the newly built Chris Matlosz playground. The playground, built today, was placed near the baseball field at the John Patrick Sports Complex.

The playground was sponsored by local companies Marturano Recreation and Rubberecycle, to serve as an everlasting memory of Police Officer Chris Matlosz.

The location of the playground, at the John Patrick Sports Complex, was decided on by the Lakewood Police Department, the Department of Public Works and by the companies donating the playground.

Township Committeeman Ray Coles told TLS the Township was unable to add a children’s playground at the park when the park was built due to a lack a funds, so the decision of placing the playground there was welcoming.

Township officials and the President of the PBA, Gary Przewoznik, will be taking part in a dedication ceremony for the new playground in the coming weeks. TLS.

  1. Wow cuddos to them theses play system cast a small fortune. I’m sure the children will enjoy the playground for years to come and it will be a living memory to officer matlosz

  2. I will take my children to this playground, and when they are old enough , I will tell them about the ultimate sacrifice made by this fine offer. They will know that our police officers put their lives at risk everytime they start a shift and we must value the service they give us.
